Got Health?

Last week I came across this amazing article about being healthy, and how it is each of our responsibilities to operate within our most optimum health in order to serve. Interesting that it always comes back to caring for ourselves before we serve the interests of others. Check out Pilar Gerasimo's call to revolution: Click on the link to see the full blog.

A Manifesto for Thriving in a Mixed-Up World

Being Healthy Is a Revolutionary Act

Throwing off the chains of poor health and reclaiming our full vitality is both our individual right and our collective responsibility. And there is perhaps no more life-transforming choice.Being strong and healthy in an unhealthy culture makes you part of an empowered minority. It gives you freedoms and opportunities that poor health and fitness prohibit. It endows you with the energy, clarity and resiliency to fully enjoy your life, and to make bigger, more meaningful contributions in anything you do. Choosing a healthy way of life involves making some revolutionary choices, and it also has revolutionary results.
Because when you change your health for the better, you change the lives of everyone around you for the better, too.
In a very real way, you change your world.

ShiZZLe HaPPeNS: StAyInG pOSiTivE!

deAr fun & frEE oNes!

I have to admit that last week was a bit, well, trying . . . , one of my kids got into a tiff with their bestie (and, of course, I wanted to get in there and fluff it and make it better . . . ), and basically, everyone (including me) was MeLtIng dOwN. So, I went to one of my mentors, Marie Forleo, for some tips about what to do. Here's what she says:
How to Stay Positively Positive
( . . .or at least get there eventually!)
MarieForleo TV

In the middle of it, I was actually having mini panic attacks--like, when your heart pounds and your mind is racing and you really can't sleep 'cuz your way up in your head? I had to remind myself to . . . just . . . well, bReaThe . . .
I also told myself through it all to trust that everything is happening as it should, and there's a bigger plan involved than I can see  . . . and it's true (more about that later!)

Anyway, I am so grateful for it all. And, I know there is a plan and we all keep on learning.

So lucky!
Love,

You are energy!

Go(o)d day, fantastic funfree-me-tastical magicals! (made up compliment-word with super energy! maybe a little carried away, however). . .

Check out the vid above about energy and how water can absorb emotional energy of emotions!

Do you know that YOU are responsible for the movies you create (but someone has to tell you this stuff, right? I hope I was gentle enough about it . . . and there's more go(o)d news!)

Here it is: You can project anything you want on your screen and life will act as a MIRROR:RORRIM and give it right back to you! Case in point, you for sure have noticed that groSs cRapPy energy can be contagious (EeWw...no thanks...), but SO CAN smiling at everyone (they smile back almost 100% of the time, right?) and laughter

So here's the million dollar question: Why would you choose to give out the crap (and get it back), when you can get the yummy juicy good stuff (and get it back)?

I dare you for one day, even if you think your life sucks, to intentionally be positive and try to shift your frequency to being AMAZINGLY pOSiTiVE and LiGhT!

Here are sOmE ways to do it [review for the big test (JK)]:
  • smile at everyone, and laugh your butt off!
  • don't take everything personally or so seriously--GET OUT OF YOUR DRAMA
  • give people compliments
  • show your gratitude with your words and actions
  • write anonymous love notes
  • do R.A.K. (random acts of kindness) note: you may need credit at first, but it's more fun to do if people don't know it was you!
  • do super awesome random dance moves
  • think amazing loving thoughts about everyone around you (even if you think they are annoying, "popular", ugly, emo, etc...)
  • breathe deeply 100 times (daughter's recommendation)
Got hApPy? It's a choice, yo----I dare you to try it! (leave me a comment and let me know how it goes!)

Love and love squared (like, to the second power for all you math GeEkS)!--

Got Sign?

"The peaceful warrior's way is not about invulnerability,
but absolute vulnerability--
to the world, to life,
and to the Presence you felt.
All along I've shown you by example
that a warrior's life is not about imagined perfection or victory;
it is about love.
Love is a warrior's sword;
wherever it cuts, it gives life, not death."
- Dan Millman

Go(o)d Morning All!

Above you can see me wearing my favorite ring . . . and there's a beautiful story behind it & the symbol it bears. The symbol first found me in my mid-twenties, a difficult time of transition for me: my dad was dying, I was working at my first teaching job, and I had been in a very toxic relationship that was coming to an end. I found this symbol first when I was in Mexico for spring break--it actually was a bangle that hung on a silver chain . . . a necklace. I've never been a necklace person, but for some reason it spoke to me and I bought it.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes, things find us just at the right time? Like, a book practically jumps off the shelf to you, or you overhear a message from someone's conversation that's just what you need to hear?

Anyway, the necklace bangle used to be square and plain, with no sapphires, no diamonds, and no ruby in the heart space. Here's the story of how I made it my own:

A few  years ago, I knew a relationship was coming to an end and I had to make a painful leap; I was exhausted & depressed, and I had slowly lost me--for which I take full responsibility, by the way--over the course of the relationship. I had to save myself, but I was terrified. Looking back, I know now that I had been terrified for years--and instead of feeling my sadness and fear, I was medicating myself with working too much, jogging endless miles, running from activity to activity, eating too much, not eating enough, you name it. I was sleep-deprived, spent, and hopeless; I felt my spirit slowly shrinking to an invisible dot.

I saw my necklace one morning, and something nudged me to take it to my  neighborhood jeweler and ask him to make it into a ring. We chatted for awhile, and I decided I wanted to round out the edges to soften it a bit . . . I didn't even ask how much it would cost. A couple of weeks later, a counselor friend of mine noticed my new ring; she asked me whether I knew what it meant and I said, "No. Not really." She told me it's a Celtic rune that means spiritual warrior, and a strong  symbol of protection.

She went into a drawer and pulled out a piece of paper (above) with my symbol on it. I got the chills over and over. It had "Algiz" written on the top of the page, and read:

Opportunity for growth.
Rapid development.
Protection.
Safe refuge.

It is a powerful rune of protection and, spiritually,
it symbolizes reaching up to the divine.
Even in the heat of battle you are protected; wisdom & vision are your allies

I knew that it was a sign from the Universe that I had to dig deep, and go to a place of strength I didn't know was possible for me. And I did go there . . . my ring has Celtic rune on it that means spiritual warrior, and a strong  symbol of protection. DO you have special symbols that have spoken to you in your life? The symbolic rune"Algiz" serves as a mirror for Spiritual Warrior, the one whose battle is always with the self. Here's a bit more about it:

*
Algiz:“Al-jiz”
Literally: “Elk”
Esoteric: Protection, Higher Self
PSI: divinity, higher self, the state of listening
Energy: protective teaching force, the divine plan,
Mundane: protection, safety, spirituality
Divinations: Connection with the gods, awakening, higher life, protection.
* from RuneSecrets.com

When I look back at my life, I realize that this symbol has been with me for a lot longer than I was aware-- for example, I have been drawn to this image in art I have chosen for my home . . .
in gifts I have received from family and friends . . .
and I see this rune in many everyday sightings, like, for example in leaves and trees . . .
I even keep a special token with this rune in my pocket each day . . .

About my ring . . .  I had the necklace made into a ring, and then months later, when I had yet another challenge, I decided to have my jeweler add the ruby "heart" to the ring, surrounded by gold--, and the three white diamonds to symbolize my magical number, three--and the love among Chloe, Max, and me. Last year, the ring's final transformation was adding 9 (3+3+3) sapphires around the symbol, three of which were placed above the head of the figure, at the crown chakra.
I truly believe the Universe speaks to us quietly in powerful symbols and patterns that surround us everyday--and one of our highest callings is to pay attention to them and learn from them. For me this means staying conscious, present, and aware so that I can benefit from these quiet messages.
Do you have a symbol that has found you and has worked magic in your life? Leave a comment and tell your story behind your special symbol!
Have a beautiful day!
Love,
Dana

aLL is LoVe . . .

***********************************************************
The evolution of all spiritual life,
Dana Lynne,
includes 3 absolutes:

1. You will love.

2. You will be loved.

3. The former will eventually be
far more important to you than the latter.

Grasshopper,

The Universe
***********************************************************
GuEsS wHaT? The LoVe is in you! I used to think that the love I needed was going to come from someone or something outside myself (and it very often does, and that's a huge bOnUs!), but when I want to feel love, I have to remember that I have to love me first and connect in with my Source!

If something's missing in my life, it's missing 'cuz I am NOT GIVING IT TO MYSELF (. . . and, at first, that totally stinks to realize because it means that we have to STOP complaining about everybody else not giving us what we need, and figure out how to give it to ourselves . . . which is actually un-sucky, and powerful in a cool way...)

FYI: just want you to know that at first, this idea really bugged me (and pissed me off, actually), 'cuz it meant that I am in charge (and I have to stop blaming others for me!), but, at the same time, the good news is that I AM IN CHARGE . . . of ME! And, why would I want to give my sUpErPoWerS away, anyway? (so we can stay "victimized" and not take responsibility? hmmnnnn . . . sounds miserable!)

. . . which leads me back to the fact that I am in charge of my own stories and my own

hApPiNeSs!

Here's a cool grownup blogger who has some ideaS:

Seems kind of weird that in order to receive love, we have to love, but it has to start with us loving ourselves before we can love others.

What's important is that we love ourselves, and then we love others with no expectations.

We just love because it feels good . . . and right . . . and true.

For me, I know that I am loving, and to keep myself from being loving or restrict myself from being loving feels very difficult, really tough . . . and well, NOT ME.

Love is always bestowed as a gift –
freely, willingly and without expectation.
We don’t love to be loved;
we love to love.

~Leo Buscaglia

ALL is WELL!
ALL is LoVe . . .
